“Full body” is the phrase that causes more confusion than anything else on a laser price list, and it is worth clearing up before you spend a penny. At House of Glam HQ a full body laser session is £280, and it covers four areas: Hollywood, half legs, full arms and underarms, in one 90-minute appointment. A course of six is £1,344. Klarna spreads that over three monthly payments of £448.
That is the answer. The rest of this page is what sits behind it, because the number on its own does not tell you whether a full body booking is the right one for you, and for a good number of people it is not.
Laser hair removal at House of Glam HQ is for women, and I carry out every session myself.
How much is full body laser hair removal?
£280 a session. £1,344 for a course of six, which is what I would book if you want the reduction to hold. Before either of those, every new client has a £15 patch test and consultation. That is one appointment and one charge, not two fees, and the £15 is deducted from your first treatment.
Here is what the £280 is made of. Each of the four areas has its own price on the standard list, and this is where it gets interesting.
| Area | Tier | One session | Course of six |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hollywood | Large area | £85 | £408 |
| Half legs | Medium area | £65 | £312 |
| Full arms | Large area | £85 | £408 |
| Underarms | Small area | £45 | £216 |
| All four, booked as full body | 90 minutes | £280 | £1,344 |
The £280 is the four prices added together
Add up that third column and you get £280. Add up the fourth and you get £1,344. There is no bundle discount on a full body booking. You pay exactly what you would pay booking Hollywood, half legs, full arms and underarms one at a time.
I would rather you knew that from a web page than worked it out afterwards. What a full body booking buys you is the calendar, not a saving: four areas in one 90-minute appointment instead of four separate visits, four journeys into Southsea and four slots to find in a working week. For plenty of people that is worth having on its own. For others it is not, and if you only want two of the four areas, book the two. Splitting them up costs you nothing extra.
What is actually in a full body appointment here
Hollywood, half legs, full arms and underarms. Ninety minutes on the couch.
Hollywood means the whole bikini area rather than the bikini line alone. Half legs means the lower half, knee down. Full arms is shoulder to wrist. Underarms is underarms.
Full body is not a defined term. There is no standard list of areas behind it, and what it covers changes from one clinic’s price list to the next. So before you book laser anywhere, here included, ask for the areas in writing and check them against the ones actually bothering you. A price only becomes comparable once you know what is inside it.
What a full body appointment does not include, and what it costs to add
Those four areas are the ones people most often want treated together. They are not every area on the body, and the gaps matter if you had pictured head to toe.
Not included: the face, the neck, the upper half of the legs, the stomach, the chest and shoulders, the back, the buttocks, the hands and the feet. Each one has a published price and can go on the same appointment.
| Area to add | One session | Course of six |
|---|---|---|
| Full face and neck | £65 | £312 |
| Neck on its own | £45 | £216 |
| Chest | £65 | £312 |
| Shoulders | £65 | £312 |
| Stomach | £65 | £312 |
| Lower abdomen | £45 | £216 |
| Half back | £65 | £312 |
| Full back | £85 | £408 |
| Buttocks | £45 | £216 |
| Hands | £45 | £216 |
| Feet | £45 | £216 |
Two of those are worth flagging. If you want full legs rather than half, that moves the legs from a medium area at £65 to a large one at £85, so £20 more a session and £96 more across a course. There is a full breakdown of both tiers in leg laser hair removal prices. And a full face and neck is £65 as a single medium area, which comes in under booking the top lip, chin and cheeks separately as three mini areas at £26 each.
The complete tier list, with a booking button on every row, sits on the laser hair removal prices page.
Is it worth doing full body rather than booking areas separately?
On price it makes no difference. The totals are identical either way. On time it makes a real one: 90 minutes once, rather than four appointments spread across the same few weeks.
Where there is an actual saving is the combination packages, which are priced below the sum of their parts.
| Combination | One session | Course of six |
|---|---|---|
| Half leg, Hollywood, underarms and top lip | £195 | £936 |
| Half leg, bikini line and underarms | £140 | £672 |
| Brazilian and underarms | £95 | £456 |
| Upper lip and chin | £45 | £216 |
| Upper lip, chin and cheeks | £70 | £336 |
Brazilian is £65 and underarms £45, so £110 booked apart and £95 together. Half leg, bikini line and underarms come to £155 apart and £140 together. Upper lip and chin are £26 each as mini areas, so £52 booked apart and £45 together. Upper lip, chin and cheeks come to £78 apart and £70 together. If your list of areas matches one of those rows, book the row.
My honest answer on full body: it suits you if you genuinely want all four of those areas treated and you want them done in one sitting. If your hair concern is two areas, book two areas. Paying £280 for four when you wanted two is not a saving, it is £170 you did not need to spend. There is more detail on how course pricing works across every tier in the piece on what a laser hair removal course costs.
How many sessions, and what a year actually costs
Six is the minimum that gives lasting reduction, and sessions run every two to four weeks. Most people are through a course of six inside four to six months, so £1,344 is not a bill that lands in one month.
Paid as you go across that stretch it is roughly £224 a session, six times. On Klarna, which is available on treatments, it is three monthly payments of £448. After the course some people need nothing for a long stretch. Others come back for a top-up on one or two areas, usually the hormonal ones, and a single medium area top-up is £65.
I am not going to tell you how many top-ups you will need. That depends on your hair, your hormones and your skin, and anybody quoting you a figure before your patch test is guessing at it.
Does laser remove hair permanently?
No, and I would not want you booking on that basis. What a course of six achieves is permanent hair reduction, typically 80 to 90 per cent. What grows back after that tends to be finer, slower and easier to live with.
The word matters. Reduction is what the treatment does. Removal implies a bare result that stays bare forever, and that is not what happens to most people. There is a longer explanation of the difference in is laser hair removal permanent.
Why do I look hairier after laser?
Usually shedding, and it catches nearly everyone out between the first and second session. Treated hairs do not disappear on the couch. They sit in the follicle for a week or two and then work their way out, so for a few days an area can look as though the whole lot has grown back at once. It has not. Those hairs are on their way out, not on their way in.
The second reason is the growth cycle. Laser only affects hair that is actively growing at the moment of the pass, and at any one time a large share of your hair is not. The hairs that were dormant during session one surface before session two. That is the entire reason a course is six sessions and not one.
What full body laser will not do
It will not work on grey, white or genuinely fair hair. The laser targets pigment in the hair, so where there is no pigment there is nothing for the energy to reach.
It will not treat over a tan. Tanned skin is not safe skin for laser, and I will move your appointment rather than treat you on it.
It will not stop hormonal hair being hormonal. Where a condition is driving the growth, laser reduces what is there and keeps reducing it, but the cause carries on underneath and top-ups become more likely.
And it is not a one-off. One full body session on its own is £280 spent on a partial, temporary result. Book the course, or do not book it.
The £15 patch test, and what happens in it
Every new client starts here. The patch test and the consultation are one appointment and one £15 charge, and that £15 is deducted from your first treatment.
The laser is a medical-grade SMARTDiode, an 808nm diode, and it is calibrated to your skin at that visit. I go through the areas you want treated, tell you which tier each falls into and what it costs, and put small test patches on so the settings can be set safely for you. Then there is a wait before your first full session, which is standard and not something I will skip. More on what that appointment involves is in the laser patch test guide.
If I do not think laser is the right answer for your hair, I will say so at that appointment rather than take a booking for six sessions.
