Body
Under 18
Piercing from age 14, with a parent or guardian in the room.
They need to come with you, stay for the appointment and bring photo ID, because I have to be able to confirm who is giving consent. Nipple piercing is 18 and over. Genital piercings are not offered.
Healing times
The times above are guides, not promises.
Everyone heals at a different pace. Keep the aftercare going for the full period, and bring the piercing in for a look before you change the jewellery for the first time.
Is this for you
Who books a piercing here
Most people who message me are either having their first piercing, bringing a teenager for theirs, or adding to an ear they have been building for years. All three are welcome. This is what I see most.
- A first pair of lobes, from age 14A parent or guardian in the room with photo ID. I mark both sides and show you in the mirror before anything happens, and I will not rush a nervous fourteen-year-old.
- Building a curated earHelix, flat and tragus placed to sit well with what you already have, with jewellery chosen for the healing period rather than for the first photo.
- A nostril, one side or bothPierced with a single-use needle, not a gun, so the hole is clean and the jewellery seats properly.
- Navel and nipple piercingAnatomy is checked first, because not every navel suits a piercing and I would rather tell you than pierce it. Nipple piercing is 18 and over, in a private room.
- Nervous, or had a bad one beforeA calm treatment room rather than a shop floor, one person from start to finish, and as long as you need.
Before you book
What happens at a piercing appointment
A piercing takes seconds. The appointment takes 15 to 30 minutes, because the part that matters is everything around it.
Book the piercing straight onto Fresha from the price list, or message me on WhatsApp if you want to ask about placement or a piercing you do not see listed. Piercing is by appointment only, so pick a time that suits you and it is yours. Under 18, bring a parent or guardian and their photo ID.
I look at the ear, nose or navel first, because placement depends on the shape you have. Then I mark the spot, show you in the mirror and move it until you are happy. Nothing is pierced until you say so.
A sterile single-use needle for cartilage, nose and body, or a gun for lobes if you prefer one. Gloves, a fresh single-use needle, and titanium or surgical stainless steel jewellery fitted straight away. It feels like a sharp pinch and it is over in a second or two.
You leave with aftercare guidance and a healing guide for your piercing. Keep the aftercare going for the full period, and bring the piercing in for a look before you change the jewellery for the first time. If anything looks wrong in the meantime, message me and send a photo.
Pierced by Natasha, every time
Every piercing at House of Glam HQ is done by me, Natasha, in a private treatment room in Southsea. I use sterile single-use needles for cartilage, nose and body piercings, with a gun available for lobes if you would rather, and I am registered with Portsmouth City Council for skin piercing and aesthetics.
I look at your anatomy before anything is pierced, fit titanium or surgical stainless steel jewellery suited to the site, and send you home with aftercare guidance so the piercing heals as it should.
Whether it is a first pair of lobes, a helix or tragus to add to an ear you are building, or a nose, navel or nipple piercing, the same person does it every time.
Plenty of clients book a treatment alongside their piercing. The full menu is on this site — anti-wrinkle injections from £150, dermal fillers from £130, laser hair removal from £26, facials from £45 and skin boosters from £165 — with every price published.

What clients say about Natasha's piercing
Common questions about piercing in Portsmouth
Pain, healing times, ages and prices, answered plainly.
Does piercing hurt?
Most piercings feel like a quick pinch and are over in seconds. Natasha works efficiently to minimise discomfort, and many clients — especially those having their first ear or nose piercing — are surprised by how quick and manageable the experience is. Cartilage piercings like helix and tragus may feel slightly sharper but are still very brief. If you want to compare placements before you decide, have a look at my body piercing pain chart.
Is piercing safe?
Yes. Every piercing is performed using sterile single-use needles for cartilage and body piercings, with strict hygiene protocols and full aftercare guidance provided.
How long does a piercing appointment take?
Most piercing appointments take 15 to 30 minutes including jewellery selection, anatomical assessment, the piercing itself, and aftercare guidance.
What jewellery do you use?
All initial piercings include titanium or surgical stainless steel jewellery, included in the piercing price. Premium upgrades are available.
Do you offer children’s ear piercing?
Yes. I pierce from age 14. A parent or guardian needs to come with you, stay for the appointment and bring photo ID, because I have to be able to confirm who is giving consent. The studio is registered with Portsmouth City Council for skin piercing and aesthetics, so the premises and the hygiene standards have been inspected.
It is not only lobes — I will talk through what suits the ear or the placement your child has in mind, and say so if I do not think it is a sensible first piercing for them. Nipple piercing is 18 and over, and I do not do genital piercings at all. A pair of lobes is £50 including jewellery, a single lobe £35, and everything else is on the price list above.
I do the piercing myself, the same way I would for an adult: I check the anatomy first, mark the placement and show you both before anything happens, and use a sterile single-use needle with titanium or surgical steel jewellery. If your child changes their mind at any point we stop, and there is no charge for a piercing that does not happen.
Lobes usually settle in 6 to 9 weeks and cartilage takes a lot longer. I go through the aftercare with both of you before you leave and it is written down to take home — clean it twice a day, leave the jewellery alone, and use non-woven gauze rather than cotton wool, because cotton fibres catch on the jewellery.
Do I need to book?
Yes. Piercing is by appointment only. Pick the piercing from the price list and it books straight onto Fresha at a time that suits you, or message me on WhatsApp first if you want to ask about placement or a piercing you do not see listed.
What are the healing times?
Earlobes usually heal in 6 to 9 weeks. Ear cartilage (helix, tragus and flat) takes 6 to 9 months, sometimes longer. Nostrils take 3 to 6 months, navels 6 to 9 months, and nipples 3 to 9 months, sometimes longer. These are guides rather than promises, so bring it in and I will check it before you change the jewellery. How well it heals depends a lot on aftercare, so follow my guide on how to clean a new piercing.
