Every new client starts with the £15 patch test and consultation — one appointment, one charge, deducted from your first treatment. The laser is a medical-grade SMARTDiode, an 808nm diode, calibrated to your skin type at that visit.
Pay per session or per course, never on a contract. A course of six is the minimum that gives lasting reduction; sessions run every two to four weeks.

Who it works for, honestly
Laser finds the pigment in the hair, so how well it works depends on your hair and your skin. This is who gets the most from it, and who I will tell not to book six sessions.
Dark hair, fair to medium skin
The textbook case. The strongest contrast between hair and skin means the most reduction per session and the fewest sessions overall.
Darker skin, Fitzpatrick IV to VI
The 808nm diode is set to your skin type at the patch test. If an IPL clinic turned you away, this is the technology that treats darker skin safely.
PCOS or hormonal growth
Laser manages it far better than shaving, waxing or threading. Because the cause is hormonal, expect maintenance sessions every eight to twelve weeks after the course.
Brazilian or Hollywood
The most-booked areas here: £65 and £85 a session, front to back, with the same practitioner every time.
Your first time, and nervous
The patch test is the whole first visit: skin type, hair colour, a test patch, your questions. You decide after it, not before.
Grey, white or very pale blonde hair
There is not enough pigment for the laser to find, so it will not work well. I will say so at the patch test rather than sell you a course.

What happens
From the patch test to your last session
Patch test and consultation
£15, about 15 minutes. I check your skin type, hair colour and history, set the laser for you and test a small patch. The £15 comes off your first treatment.
The night before
Shave the area. No waxing, plucking or epilating for four weeks before, no fake tan, and keep the area out of the sun.
The session
20 to 90 minutes, depending on the area. The SMARTDiode cools the skin as it works; most people describe warmth or a quick flick, and many find it easier than waxing.
After, and again
Keep the area out of heat and sun for 48 hours. Sessions run every two to four weeks, six to a course; a top-up every 12 to 18 months keeps the result.

What's the difference between laser and IPL?
Diode laser (like our SMARTDiode) uses a single, focused 808nm wavelength absorbed specifically by melanin in the hair follicle. IPL scatters energy across a broad spectrum, hitting everything in range. The diode is more precise and more effective. IPL is also unsafe on darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) — the SMARTDiode is safe across all skin types.

What hair colours does laser work on?
Laser hair removal targets the melanin pigment in hair, so it works best on dark hair. Black, dark brown and medium brown hair all respond very well. Light brown and dark blonde respond more variably. White, grey and very pale blonde hair lacks the melanin signal needed — these hair types do not respond reliably to laser. Natasha will assess this honestly at your £15 patch test.
Is laser hair removal available for men?
Laser hair removal at House of Glam HQ is for women only, performed by Natasha personally. How many sessions do I need?
A minimum of 6 sessions is recommended for lasting results. Most clients see 80–90% permanent hair reduction after a full course. This is biological — only hairs in the active growth (anagen) phase respond to laser, and 6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart catches the maximum number of follicles across the cycle.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients describe it as mild warmth or a slight tingling sensation. The medical-grade SMARTDiode has integrated cooling running continuously throughout treatment, which protects the skin surface and reduces most of the sensation. Many clients find it more comfortable than waxing.
Can I have laser hair removal on dark skin?
Yes. The medical-grade SMARTDiode is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types I through VI when calibrated properly. Natasha assesses your skin type at the patch test and adjusts laser settings accordingly.
